The LW series fast Ethernet media converter with external power supply and SC connector is 10/100M/1000M auto-adaptation Ethernet fiber optic media converter, supporting the 10/100BASE-TX twisted-pair electrical signal and the 100BASE-FXX light signal interconversion. It expands the network transmitting range limit from the copper wire 100 meters to 2 kilometers (multi- model optical fiber)；120 kilometers (single model optical fiber), and can easily realize the link between HUB, SWITCH, the server, the terminal and long-distance terminal. LW series Ethernet fiber optic media converter support plug and play, which means that it can work either independently or with others in a rack case.
When Lightwit media converter is connected to fast Ethernet switchboard with the auto negotiation function, the media converter will the automatically select full duplex or the half-duplex pattern to ensure the maximum transmission band width. When failure appears in the optical fiber link, the Missinglink will provide accurate reports to the network management system. If redundant link on the switchboard is set to simultaneous co-operating, it can realize the redundant link automatic activation function. With internal high-level exchanging engine to control mistake dissemination effectively, with MAC address self-learning, self-renewal function to provide quick and stable transmission. With ultra wide switching power supply, it can effectively resist the instability of the external voltage to provide the stable fiber optic transmission and the link exchange.
This stand-alone media converter has external power source. When the customers need many media converters, they can obtain the standard-size engine case by Lightwit with extremely low cost. The module type media converter can be installed on the standard rack. With internal power supply system, it can hold 16 medium switches at most. In to the situation requesting strict reliability, the second redundant power source can be installed to provide the higher reliability.
